Plc  >  Social responsibility  >  Adapting Buildings for Climate Change

We recognise that buildings and their use have profound effects on the environment and the community and demand responsible considerations.

We promote flexibility in the design of any project to maximise its use, advocate increased bio-diversity and the creation of green space and we support facilitation for on-going climate change.

Sustainability in practice
  • We provided CO2 controlled class-room environments and night-time cooling at the Hadley Learning Community, minimising mechanical ventilation.
  • We installed Brize Soleil on the south facing side of a refurbished building at RAF High Wycombe, significantly reducing glare and heat build up.
  • We installed a ‘brown’ roof on our site offices at Westminster Bridge, located on a purpose-built platform on the River Thames, to provide natural vegetation growth and a roosting area for birds.
