North West Wales NHS Trust has chosen Interserve as its supply partner for the replacement of its corroded pipe work throughout Ysbyty Gwynedd, an Acute Hospital in Bangor. The scheme will also entail a full refurbishment of the hospital, including re-designed wards and specialist clinical areas to modernise the service with as little disruption as possible to the hospital’s patients and services.
This project is the tenth award for Interserve in the Designed for Life: Building for Wales framework agreement, since its launch in 2006. Other clients include Gwent Healthcare NHS Trust, Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust, North Wales NHS Trust and Abertawe and Bro Morgannwg University NHS Trust.
Interserve has also been awarded the contract to construct a new Accident & Emergency department at Withybush Hospital Haverfordwest for the Hywel Dda NHS Trust.
The new building will consist of an A&E department, a nineteen bed adult clinical decision unit and two Operating Theatre suites. Work will commence in September and be completed by February 2010.
John Vyse, Executive Director, Interserve, said: “These two prestigious projects further expand our extensive activities in the Welsh health sector. We are delighted that our track record of delivering high quality facilities, on time and on budget has once again been recognised and look forward to once again delivering for the people of Wales.”
