Facilities Services  >  Safety

Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment (QSHE) are of paramount importance to us; not only for our employees, but also for our clients, the environment and others who are affected by our activities.

Accidents, injuries and impacts on the environment produce negative effects, but by working together and continually improving, we can significantly reduce them and ultimately eliminate them. By constantly seeking ways to reduce risks and impacts we will provide a safer and more secure future for all.

Interserve will only undertake operations that can be carried out safely and will support the environment.

Changing Attitudes Towards Safety (CATS)

This unique accident / incident campaign is designed to prevent injuries to both employees and those around them.  CATS is a behavioural based process which identifies both good and bad working practices, to ensure that actions are taken and behaviours are changed to prevent accidents / incidents occurring.

Environment

We are committed to conducting our business in an environmentally sustainable manner. We recognise the need to be aware of the environmental impact of all of our activities and services and our responsibility to do our part in safeguarding the environment for future generations. We have therefore developed and operate our own environmental management system (EMS) which has been certified to ISO14001 standard.

Food Safety

We recognise that where we provide catering as part of our service offer, food safety is of paramount importance; we therefore implement our 'Assured Safe Catering' Policies, Standards and Procedures across all our catering operations.

To support this implementation and to ensure the ongoing maintenance of the highest levels of food safety (and hygiene), we strive to ensure that our catering staff are suitably trained, instructed and/or supervised commensurate with their food safety responsibilities and duties. This can be realised by the fact that our Food Safety Advisor has trained our catering staff to CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety.

QSHE Training

We have embedded trained trainers throughout the business that are registered with the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health; these trainers provide site based / low risk training.  InterserveFM are licensed to run the Safety Passport Alliance (SPA) safety passport scheme, IOSH Managing & Working Safely, IOSH Working at Height Awareness and SHE Responsibilities with IOSH Facilities Management Courses.  We have also developed our own in-house training packages accredited by IOSH and endorse the SAFEContractor Scheme.
