MacLellan International has been awarded the facilities services contract at French nuclear energy company AREVA’s sites in Staffordshire. Eighty-seven employees have been transferred to MacLellan under TUPE and they have all followed the MacLellan TUPE Induction Programme to help them make the transition to MacLellan’s unique working culture. Under the terms of the contract, which is worth in the region of £6m over three years, MacLellan will provide an extensive portfolio of facilities services including security; catering; M&E maintenance; Health & Safety management; cleaning and hygiene services; waste management; porterage; help desk administration; and a number of special projects. AREVA T&D provides products, systems and services for the medium and high voltage energy markets. Its products are used to transmit and distribute electricity from the generator to the large end user to ensure the reliability, quality and safety of energy flows; and to operate efficient networks through information management. Their customers compromise of electricity utilities, as well as the oil, mining and metals; wind energy; paper and glass; transport; and power engineering industries. They have manufacturing facilities in over 40 countries and sales networks in over 100. Areva offers customers technology solutions for nuclear power generation and electricity transmission and distribution. Total sales are $11billion worldwide.
