Interserve scoops Overall Winner along with two prestigious awards at the recent Premises and Facilities Management Awards Ceremony

13 Nov 2008

Interserve's recent awards success continued in London this month, winning three prestigious Premises and Facilities Management (PFM) Awards including FMA Young Manager of the Year for Clare Raybould, Partners in PFI/PPP and Overall Winner for the successful partnership between Interserve's Project Armada and the MoD.  This is the second consecutive year that Interserve has won the Overall Award - on both occasions winning it in partnership with the MoD.

Project Armada is a £460 million, 25-year contract to create, operate and maintain the MoD's new Single Living Accommodation at HMS Naval Base Devonport. The contract involves the rebuild, new build and refurbishment of 100,000 square metres of accommodation for 1,553 military personnel. It also involves a diverse range of services including estate management, catering and hotel services, maintenance, cleaning, laundry, reactive and planned works, car park security and childcare services. Since work began in 2004, the Base has been transformed into a modern, vibrant, naval community and, according to customer satisfaction surveys, the objective of improving service personnel's living conditions and raising morale is being achieved. Interserve employees' workmanship has received a 90% satisfaction rating and their helpfulness has achieved 100% satisfaction.

The PFM Awards judges commented on the Interserve – MoD partnership:  "This partnership is among the best these awards had ever seen in their 15 years of operation. It is delivering first class facilities for the Navy, which are well managed and with a co-operative and proactive approach that makes a significant difference to the Navy personnel and helps to recognise the high value this country places on its armed forces. Interserve has developed excellent relationships at both a strategic and operational level and this winner is a role model from whom others can learn."

Bruce Melizan, Executive Director, Interserve commented: "We are delighted to have won these awards as they show further significant progress in our mission to provide industry-leading value to our clients. It is particularly satisfying that our partnership approach has been recognised and that the MoD can share in this success."

The other award winner, Clare Emily Raybould, Environmental Manager, Interserve, has been recognised for her work in reducing the environmental impact on Interserve's integrated retail services contract with PRUPIM at eleven major retail destinations throughout the UK, including Manchester Arndale, The Mall at Cribbs Causeway and The Grafton Cambridge.  The judges were "impressed with Clare's leadership skills, her enthusiasm for environmental matters and how she managed to encourage all the retailers to buy into multiple waste management initiatives."
