Interserve scoops nationwide Home Office contract

17 Apr 2008

Interserve has been awarded a five year contract with the Home Office for the provision of property services in the South West, North West and North East of England; Wales and Scotland.

Interserve will provide a range of services including where required: maintenance, security, energy management, portering, reception, cleaning, housekeeping, catering and hospitality. The portfolio covers 575 buildings.  This includes offices, training centres, residential accommodation and approved premises for the Ministry of Justice (NOMS including National Probation Service), the Home Office and its sponsored bodies.

Adrian Ringrose, Chief Executive, Interserve, commented on the significant contract win:

“Wining a contract of this scope and size, serves to underpin Interserve’s expertise in a wide range of facilities management services.  In all the areas that we’ve been appointed to handle by the Home Office, we have strong credentials across both the public and private sectors.  Indeed, our work with the Metropolitan Police has exposed us to similar challenges, especially around security, as the much larger contract with the Home Office will.  We are very much looking forward to starting work on this exciting contract over the coming months.”

The contract was signed on 31 March 2008, with the contract officially commencing during June 2008.
